Mondlane, who has rejected the results of the October general elections, has become the face of protests in Mozambique.
However, he has recently postponed the next phase of demonstrations.
In a Facebook post, Mondlane announced the postponement of the next phase of protests, citing technical reasons and unforeseen circumstances.
Despite the delay, he has urged his supporters to remain patient, explaining that the postponement was a gesture of respect and aimed at making sure that the message is delivered clearly and thoroughly.
Prior to this, Mondlane accused the government of fostering chaos and terror to suppress protests.
He is expected to return from exile this Thursday, ahead of the inauguration.
