He was found in a pool of blood after he was sprayed with bullets on the R23 in Kempton Park on the 30th of June.
Provincial Serious and Violence Crime detectives are also searching for a second suspect in the matter, after a warrant of arrest was issued for him by the court.
The 40-year-old is expected to appear before the Kempton Park Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
