The floods, caused by heavy rains and a storm surge, swept away buildings and cars and left corpses strewn on the streets and the shore.
Rescue workers are still searching for survivors under the debris, but the chances are slim as time passes.
Many victims have been buried in mass graves or wrapped in body bags due to the lack of resources and facilities.
The Libyan government and international organizations have appealed for more aid and support to cope with the disaster and prevent the spread of diseases.
