African leaders to pay respects for former Namibian State President

Date: Feb 23, 2024

A sombre atmosphere hangs over Namibia as the country prepares to lay its former president, Hage Geingob, to rest.

The state funeral, scheduled for Sunday, February 25th at Heroes' Acre, will witness a gathering of dignitaries, including several African leaders, to pay their final respects.

The prelude to the state funeral comes with a memorial service held tomorrow, Saturday February 24th, at the Independence Stadium in the capital Windhoek. This event will likely draw a large crowd of mourners, offering a platform for both national and international figures to share their memories and celebrate the late president's legacy.
