The matter was heard in the Postmasburg Magistrate's Court in the Northern Cape Province after Itumeleng Dinku was apprehended following a tip-off that he was selling a gold bar.

Provincial Police Spokesperson, Tebogo Thebe says Dinku failed to explain where he got the gold bar.

“Fifty-two-year-old Itumeleng Dinku made a brief appearance before the Postmasburg Magistrate’s Court, where he faced charges of possession of suspected illegal melted gold bar. The matter was postponed to July 7, 2025 for a formal bail application,” Thebe said.
