Botswana new President wants to push for better economic growth

Newly-elected President of Botswana, Advocate Duma Boko says his priorities are to push for better economic growth and to address unemployment.

Boko was inaugurated as the country’s sixth President on Friday. This after his party the Umbrella for Democratic Change defeated the governing Botswana Democratic Party in recent elections.

Many dignitaries who attended the ceremony commended Botswana for the smooth transition of power. Among them were South Africa’s Deputy President Paul Mashatile, EFF leader Julius Malema, Build One South Africa leader Mmusi Maimane, the President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa and Zambia’s President Hakainde Hichilema.
