The hearing will determine whether all parties involved are ready for the trial in the accused’s alleged involvement in the murderer’s escape from prison. The trial itself has been set for November 10 until March 27. Bester, together with his lover, Dr Nandipha Magudana and others, made an appearance in the court on Tuesday.

All the accused, except for Bester and Magudumana, will be represented by the SA Legal Aid, while Zolile Sekeleni's application to have legal aid represent him on the matter was declined. Sekeleni is expected to make an appeal on that application.
