Lamola was briefing the media after the meeting, where international envoys from the world’s most influential economies discussed a range of global issues. This comes as the world is battling with multiple challenges from geopolitical tensions, climate change, inequality and poverty.
Lamola has once again sought to clarify that the Americans did not boycott the two-day gathering.
G20 top diplomats are concerned about the instability in certain parts of the world.
Meanwhile, France has echoed the same sentiments on the reform of the UN Security Council. Paris’s top diplomat also responds on SA vs Israel at the ICJ on Gaza.
South Africa’s G20 Presidency has also received support from key partners from the continent.
The G20 Finance Ministers are set to convene in Cape Town later this month, ahead of the G20 Summit scheduled for November. The minister expresses hope that the outstanding issues will be resolved by then.
