In the last few weeks we have seen the country experience lot of looting and violence, where 16 people died during nationwide anti-government protests on Wednesday.
He says what is happening in Kenya is no ordinary protest.
He stated that the whole situation could have been handle better to avoid fatalities.
There’s also been allegations that some politicians or government had colluded with criminals to infiltrate the protest.
Most of the people were killed by police, a year after deadly demonstrations against a tax bill culminated in the storming of parliament.
He says alike other years where you will see youth being in the forefront but this time the protest showed civil society co-ordinating to fight the injustice.
Mboyi stated that this is not the first time Kenya has experience these kind of protests, where scores of people died.
"Kenya’s social structure is not in a good state, with government not being responsive towards the people. The unemployment is high and we have frustrated youth"
He reiterated that if the situation is not controlled in a proper manner, it has potential of becoming worse.
"Going forward there must strategic way to engage the people constructively, address their concerns. The gap between the young people and government is widening. This is not the good place to be as a country."
