The group was arrested in connection with the theft of $50 000 at a store during a police operation at the city's Dragon City Mall last week. 

Six of the police officers and two civilians appeared in court on Wednesday last week following their arrests and the next day, four more police officers were added to the case. The lawyers of the accused has begun reading out their affidavits in support of their bail applications.
