UN Security Council convene to discuss Israel-Iran conflict

The United Nations (UN) Security Council will convene Friday on an urgent basis on the Israel-Iran conflict at the request if Iran and supported by China and Russia.

In a letter to the UN Security Council and the UN Secretary General, Iran's UN Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani called on the Council to address the situation with the utmost urgency and prevent further aggression against his country.

United States President Donald Trump again took to social media urging Iran to make a deal and save the country before there was nothing left, as the White House signaled a decision on greater US involvement in the war would be made within the next two weeks.

As Israel and Iran continue to trade military blows as this conflict only intensifies.

The Security Council will convene for a second time to discuss the situation on Friday.

The discussions comes after calls by Iran's Ambassador for the body to uphold its responsibility in the maintenance of international peace and security.
