There’s heightened traffic police visibility on roads.
The aim is to reduce crashes along the major routes in the province.
Gauteng Traffic Police Spokesperson Sello Maremane says, “To ensure the safety of all road users, the Gauteng traffic police offers the following road safety tips to motorists: overtake only when it is safe and always comply with traffic rules and switch on headlamps when it’s raining to enhance visibility; passengers: avoid carrying large luggage that may overload public transport vehicles; pedestrians: do not cross freeways as it is illegal and extremely dangerous. Also, motorcyclists: ride within prescribed speed limits and remain cautious.”
