MK Party commemorated Workers’ Day through a rally at George Botha Hall in Gqeberha, the province of Eastern Cape on Thursday.
The MKP’s Provincial Coordinator, Xolani Mgxotheni, has called workers to unite under the banner of the party for their rights to be protected.
Mgxotheni says, "Workers are coming from extremely difficult conditions. To some extent they have serious victories of moving away from slavery to becoming workers that are protected by the laws of the country, protected through basic workers right, but we are saying it’s not enough because the larger part of the commercial industry, the private sector work, they are still treated with some elements of previous ways of doing things, as such workers basic conditions are disregarded. We are uniting everyone as MK because we understand workers are part of the society."
