This year, over 880 000 full-time and part-time candidates will sit for the National Senior Certificate matric exam across South Africa.

About 16 000 students from private schools will undertake the Independent Examinations Board exams.

Ramaphosa says, “Matric is quite a challenging exam but I know our matriculants are up to it. You have all been working hard and preparing for the exams, so I wish you the best of luck. Many who have written the exams before you always have done well, and I know you will not disappoint, you will also do extremely well. Get those distinctions, get those passes. Good luck!”
