Ali says that this also marks an important time for the country, following its election as one of the non-permanent members of the UN Security Council.

Deputy Minister of Forestry, Fisheries & Environment Narend Singh says he will always support Somalia’s quest for long-lasting peace.

South Africa is one of the countries hosting a significant Somali community and they were part of the festivities.

Somalia is getting ready to host elections in 2026 in over 50 years, a big step as the East African country seeks to push for economic growth and development.
