It also coincided with the opening of the country’s new premises of its diplomatic mission in Pretoria.
Ali says that this also marks an important time for the country, following its election as one of the non-permanent members of the UN Security Council.

South Africa is one of the countries hosting a significant Somali community and they were part of the festivities.
Somalia is getting ready to host elections in 2026 in over 50 years, a big step as the East African country seeks to push for economic growth and development.
