Botswana’s President calls for unity between SA’s EFF, ANC

Date: Jul 22, 2025

Botswana’s President, Duma Boko, has urged for greater unity between his country and South Africa’s (SA) Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and African National Congress (ANC).

He highlighted the importance of solidarity in tackling the pressing challenges facing the region and the African continent.

Speaking at the first-ever Botswana National Front Conference, where both the EFF and ANC were invited following their 2024 electoral victories, Boko appealed to the parties to put aside their political differences.

“The EFF, the ANC all of them, must step up in order to step back and reflect on the existential threats facing their countries, the region, and indeed the continent,” Boko said.

He expressed hope that co-operation between Botswana and SA’s political movements would strengthen efforts towards a united and prosperous Africa.
