This after he and other senior police officials were arrested at the at the O.R Tambo International airport in Johannesburg, Gauteng Province.

The National Prosecuting Authority’s Henry Mamothame confirmed the arrests to South African Broadcasting Corporation News. 

He says Khumalo and other senior managers within the SA Police service are expected to appear at the Pretoria central magistrate court on Friday. 
However he could not give more details about the possible charges the suspects will face and the circumstances relating to their arrests. 

But reports suggest this could be in connection with the alleged unlawful appointments.
