However a South African based theatre group is using performance to raise awareness on GBV.
The Wushwini Pan African Centre for Arts, Culture and Heritage from KwaZulu-Natal Province took its powerful one man show to Francistown, Botswana's second-largest city, on Friday night.
Founded in 2011 by arts mentor Jerry Pooe, the organisation has launched a regional tour of the play, performed by Tefo Paya, with plans to take its anti-GBV message across the continent.
