The toll plaza, located between Polokwane and Pretoria, has recorded over two thousand vehicles per hour since Friday morning.
Gauteng Traffic Police are urging motorists to be patient as they approach toll gates.
"A noticeable increase in buses carrying congregants is adding to the traffic volumes at the Carousel Toll Plaza, a clear indication that roads are set to remain busy throughout the Easter holiday period.
Many families are embarking on long-distance journeys for religious observances and gatherings, contributing to the surge in traffic. The Carousel Toll Plaza, situated on the N1 route between Pretoria and Limpopo, forms part of SA's extensive toll road network.
This key corridor connects travelers to a range of destinations, including the busy Beit Bridge border post into Zimbabwe."
