War veterans and citizens are calling for President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s removal, citing his failure to revive the economy and concerns over his plans to extend his rule beyond 2028.
Once loyal to Mnangagwa, the war veterans have now shifted their support to Vice President Chiwenga. Meanwhile, Zimbabweans in South Africa have gathered at the Union Buildings in Pretoria, demanding change.
One protester, Keith, expressed frustration over repeated appeals to the government, saying: "We are here today in Pretoria because we are demanding that Mnangagwa resign—he needs to go. We don’t need him anymore. We don’t want to give any more memorandums. We have been sending papers and memorandums for too long, and they don’t even respond to us."
