This as community leaders and faith-based organisations call for urgent action against the relentless wave of violence that continues to destroy lives in the areas of Beacon Valley, Portland's, Westridge, Lentegeur, Eastridge, Tafelsig and across greater Mitchell's Plain.

The initiative is led by Save Mitchells Plain in collaboration with the Malachi Foundation and concerned pastors and imams. It aims to pressure government, law enforcement, and civil society to implement an effective safety plan. In recent weeks, more than more than 20 people have been shot dead in mass killings across the Cape Flats.
