Ramaphosa says the party was concerned about ongoing conflicts in various parts of the continent.

He was delivering the National Executive Committee’s January 8th statement to party members at the Madiba Park Stadium, in Khayelitsha, Western Cape province.

He says the ANC will use the upcoming liberation movements summit later this year to address the matter.

“The ANC will host the much-anticipated Liberation Movements Summit this year, this will further strengthen gains, towards the lasting regional stability and sustainable economic development. We’re deeply concerned about the ongoing conflicts in Sudan, and the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, as well as the post-election violence in Mozambique. We call on the Organisation of African Unity and Southern African Development Community, to take urgent steps, and work towards a resolution of all these conflicts,” says Ramaphosa.
