The BMA on Monday intercepted another human and child smuggling operation at the Beitbridge border post.
Five of the occupants were adults, and 20 were children between the ages of five and 14.
The children were handed over to the Zimbabwean child welfare authorities. The driver has been charged and remains in police custody.
The BMA's Acting Commissioner, Jane Thupana, says, "With the adults, when we intercept people this side, we do process them, take their fingerprints, and get them deported back into Zimbabwe. So they are all deported back into Zimbabwe. And then the person is being charged for violating the Immigration Act, aiding and abetting, because if you transport people and you knew very well that you were carrying people who are undocumented, people who shouldn't be entering the country, you are equally an offender. You are aiding and abetting."
