SA police announce acting Crime Intelligence Head

South Africa’s (SA) National Police Commissioner, General Fannie Masemola says Crime Intelligence is key in proactively identifying threats, disrupting criminal networks, and safeguarding the country

Masemola was speaking during the introduction of the Head of the Western Cape Province’s specialised crimes unit, Solomon Makgato, who will now be acting Crime Intelligence Head. 

This follows the arrest last month of Police Crime Intelligence Head, Dumisani Khumalo and six senior police officials on fraud and corruption charges. They are out on bail except one who has a pending case. National police Spokesperson, Nonkululeko Phokane.

“The National Commissioner emphasised the importance of unity and issued a stern directive to all managers to refrain from any involvement in smear campaigns or activities that damage the integrity and morale of the organization,” Phokane said.
