This follows a mass shooting that claimed the lives of two men and two women in Road in the city of Cape Town. Chairperson of the Forum, Graham Lindhorst, says the community continues to suffer under violent crime and questions whether enough is being done by those tasked with ensuring public safety.
“We condemn in the strongest terms this senseless killing that has happened in that street. And we send our condolences to the family. And we call on police in the area to increase their visibility. We also call on police to be more vigilant and to make sure that they prevent these sort of killings. Because not a long time ago, a few months ago, we had a mass killing where seven people has died as well. So we call on police to be proactive and use their intelligence to make sure,” Lindhorst said.
