Premier calls on SA President to prioritise Provincial Police Commissioner allegations

Date: Jul 11, 2025

KwaZulu-Natal Province Premier Thami Ntuli is calling on South African (SA) President Cyril Ramaphosa to prioritise the issue of political killings and to ensure that allegations made by provincial Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi are investiga

Ntuli was addressing the media during a raid at two major shops, alleged to be hiring undocumented immigrants in Umbilo, Durban.

Initially, the media was informed that Mkhwanazi would be part of the raid.

However, Ntuli says he has learnt that Mkhwanazi is out of the province for a meeting, which he cannot share details of.

This would have been Mkhwanazi’s first public appearance after his bombshell revelations accusing Police Minister Senzo Mchunu and top officials of meddling with syndicates.

Ntuli reveals that he would like to see the matter of public killings dealt with once and for all, particularly for all the orchestrators and perpetrators to be brought to book.
