The members from the police’s Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses Unit are seeking public assistance to locate the baby’s mother.

Police Spokesperson, Brigadier Nobuntu Gantana the incident allegedly took place on Saturday.

“Police were summoned to a scene and on arrival they found a week-old baby boy dumped and still alive. The baby was taken to hospital for medical examination and a case of child neglect was opened. Police appeal to anyone who can assist with information that can lead to arrest of the suspect to please contact Detective Warrant Officer Sogiba at 0713524551 or Crime Stop 08600 10111, ” Gantana said.
