The water utility in Africa, Rand Water will be conducting maintenance on the Palmiet Pump station from May 2 to 16, 2025.

This may affect water supply in several Johannesburg Water systems including Sandton, Alexandra, South Hills, Midrand and Linksfield. 

Johannesburg Water Spokesperson Nombuso Shabalala, "Johannesburg Water will make arrangements for alternative water supply. However, residents are encouraged to store water in preparation for the maintenance. 

 Full recovery of the systems will take several days after Rand water has completed the maintenance."
