Nawa was best known for his iconic role as Zeb Matabane on the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) 3 soapie, Isidingo, and as Laqhasha on the classic SABC 1 sitcom, Sgudi ‘Snaysi.
People have since taken to social media to share their messages of condolences.
The African National Congress (ANC) has also extended its condolences to Nawa’s family.
In a post on X, the ANC’s Secretary General, Fikile Mbalula, says: "We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and all SA citizens who were touched by his immense talent and contribution to our nation’s arts and culture. His work not only entertained but also reflected the stories, struggles, and triumphs of our people."
