The ANC, South Africa's ruling party, has filed a legal challenge against the Umkhonto we Sizwe Party's use of symbols it claims are integral to its heritage and intellectual property.
In response, members of the Umkhonto we Sizwe Party in KwaZulu-Natal have expressed confidence in a favorable ruling.
Musa Mkhize, the party's Head of Elections in the province, has vehemently defended their position, stating, "The trademark belongs solely to the Umkhonto we Sizwe Party. We have not appropriated it from anyone. It is time for others to concentrate on what little they have left rather than attempting to claim what rightfully belongs to the people of this country."
The decision, expected on Wednesday, is anticipated to have significant implications for both parties involved.
