SA Broadcasting Corporation Meteorologist Joel Guy outlined the severe weather forecast, noting extended periods of extreme heat in various regions.

“It’s going to be a long, hot week for South Africans in at least seven provinces. Residents in parts of the North West and the northern parts of the Free State province can expect high temperatures until Wednesday, while those in KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng, Limpopo, and Mpumalanga province can prepare for scorching weather until at least Friday. Extremely high fire danger conditions are also predicted for several areas,” Guy says.

Residents are advised to take precautions as the heatwave persists.
