'SA bearing the brunt of Palestinian support from US'

Date: Mar 6, 2025

South Africa (SA) is bearing the brunt of its Palestinian support against Israel which led to the United States (US) government halting aid to the country and a few other nations.

That’s what Economic Freedom Figthters (EFF) leader Julius Malema argued during an urgent debate in Parliament discussing the halting of  the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief for SA government.

Malema says the decision by the US President Donald Trump and his administration was a predetermined resolution.

“The US aggression towards South Africa is nothing more than Israel’s revenge for our moral stance in support of Palestine. Meanwhile, some us have been labelled international criminals and these nations used before the west to assassinate those who opposed its agenda. Before invading the nations, the US always fabricates human rights violations to justify intervention. Today, same tactics are being against South Africa. The growing calls by right wing groups for foreign funding to establish independent states and to be armed by foreign interests must be recognised as part of broader plan. This is the early (days) of the economic isolation,” argues Malema.
