The decision by Transport Minister, Barbara Creecy, was announced on Tuesday following governance and operational issues at the RAF.
Creecy has also tasked the Special Investigating Unit to request an expansion of the scope of its current probe to cover the events of the last three months.
The entity that was also criticised for its handling of the suspension of RAF Chief Executive Officer, Collins Letsoalo, faces an inquiry by Parliaments' Standing Committee on Public Accounts.
"The people of SA would have seen when the portfolio appeared before us on June 12 and 13, when the entity appeared before us both the board and the management. That was just a glaring confusion and it was an indication that you do not have a board that is responsible that is taking seriously its fiduciary responsibilities.
We do not have a current board because you could see that the colleagues were just differing with each other in front of the people of SA in front of all of us and sadly happens at a time when the beneficiaries, those who are supposed to benefit from this particular scheme, are really with a lot of complaints.”"
