SANDF initiates "Operation CORONA"

In a move to secure the nation, the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) has initiated "Operation CORONA" in accordance with Section eighteen of one-D of the Defence Act, Act no 42 of 2002.

This operation is geared towards enforcing national border control, safeguarding the Republic of South Africa, and upholding territorial integrity.

The mission of the operation corona extends to combating cross-border crimes such as the illicit smuggling of dagga, stolen vehicles, and the infiltration of undocumented persons.

A media visit is underway, focusing on the Ladybrand and Maseru Bridge areas. Here, SANDF soldiers are strategically positioned under "Operation CORONA."

The visit promises a unique glimpse into their world, including immersive day and night border patrols alongside soldiers.
