Thabo Nkhoma, the Regional Commander at the Border Management Authority, says that they are prepared for the increase in travellers, which is likely to start on Friday.
He says that most people who could not cross to Lesotho for Christmas will be travelling for New Year's celebrations.
Nkhoma says that the border post has improved its compliance with COVID-19 regulations and has enough resources to handle any situation.
He says that the busiest days so far were December 22 and 23, when they processed more than 14 000 and 13 000 travellers respectively.
