Microgrids under spotlight at the Africa Energy Forum

The increased use of microgrids has come under the spotlight at the Africa Energy Forum that is taking place in Cape Town, the Western Cape Province, South Africa.

Microgrids is a small network of electricity users with a local source of supply.

This as the SA prepares to roll out 14 000 kilometres transmission lines over the next ten years under the new National Transmission Company of SA.

Africa's G20 presidency is on a mission to ensure that development is centered to create solidarity, equality and sustainability.

The G20 working group wants to realise the electrification of 300 million households in order to halve the people without electricity by 2030.
