Speaking at the Africa Chief Executive Officer forum in Abidjan this Monday, Kagame highlighted the persistent security challenges, including conflicts and military coups, that require a united approach.
“In terms of peace and security, when you look at the whole continent, you find many trouble spots,” he said. “Different efforts are going on, back and forth, succeeding in some places, not in others. But continued efforts must be made.”
Kagame stressed that no country can tackle these crises in isolation and urged the African Union to take a more proactive role in resolving regional conflicts. He called for African nations to work together, emphasising that lasting peace can only be achieved through collective action.
The forum, which brings together business leaders, policymakers, and heads of state, took place at a time when several African nations are facing political instability.
