Malema's remarks come in response to sanctions imposed by United States President Donald Trump against SA, which Malema attributes to the country's stance on Israel.
Malema stated that the sanctions were not a result of any wrongdoing by President Ramaphosa, but rather a reaction to SA's position on Israel and its actions taken to the International Court of Justice (ICJ). He urged the President not to be swayed by claims that the country is under siege due to land expropriation policies, which he described as a "meaningless act."
"Mr President, we are not being attacked by the Trump administration because you did anything wrong. They are attacking us because of our stand on Israel. They are attacking us because of the action the government has taken against ICJ, and we are saying to you, do not be misled by people who are saying you are under siege because of expropriation, which is a meaningless act. That act does not say anything, and they all understand that language. They are using it to fight our case against Israel," Malema said.
