Stock is in the country to hand over a new technology that will assist the SA Police Service to fight cross border crime.
SA is part of 196 countries that have joined Interpol.
Stock says crime has become increasingly complex. “I'm here in SA to hand over a new device that Interpol is now using to bring relevant police information from our 196 member countries to the frontline of policing.
“Mobile devices that can be used in any track at the critical borders or in any police operation. SA is part of this pilot. Any information exchange is key to dismantle this crime organised groups that are really operating across the continents.”
Meanwhile, SA's National Police Commissioner, Fannie Masemola, says the country will not be used as a haven for international criminals in hiding those who are involved in raising funds for the alleged terrorist’s organisations.
“We do have a task team national and have task teams provincially which they are working together, and they are making quite in-roads. Lot of arrests are being made but unfortunately this crime continues, and I think we will be able to break it down.
“This task team is doing quite well, and it is our priority to bring it down in this country.”
