The group, reportedly consisting of 49 individuals, including families, elderly citizens, and younger couples, travelled on a chartered flight to Dulles International Airport, just outside Washington D.C. Their departure marks a significant moment in an ongoing debate about political and social conditions in SA.
Sam Busa, Founder of the grassroots organisation Amerikaners, has defended the reasons behind their relocation, arguing that the current political climate has forced them to seek refuge elsewhere.
“The political climate has prompted the group to leave,” Busa stated, without elaborating on specific concerns leading to their departure. His organisation has been advocating for Afrikaners facing socio-economic challenges and political uncertainties.
