The project will run in phases with the fourth and last stage expected to be completed in June 2025.
The measures to fix water issues were announced by the city and the water and sanitation department in June last year following a cholera outbreak which killed over 20 people.
Hammanskraal has been without clean water for almost two decades.
Deputy Mayor, Nasiphi Moyo says only a few areas will start receiving clean running tap water in October.
“The construction will still be finished end of September and they will do the commissioning for two weeks. The first model which is in October is going to cover Mandela Village, Marokolo, Ramotse, Kekana Gardens, Steve Biko Village, Kudube , Babelegi industrial and Brinch informal settlement.”
