Initial results indicate that Paul Kagame is on course to be re-elected President of Rwanda with about 99% of the votes, recorded on 79% of the counted ballots, according to partial results announced yesterday evening by the electoral commission.
Opponent Frank Habineza has accepted his defeat while Philippe Mpayimana preferred not to comment.
This is the few words of Habineza after receiving the initial result, he was addressing his militant in his headquarters in Kimi Rocco.
He said he has accepted the result and congratulate the winner is Kagame.
