The suspects are charged with common assault following the emergence of a video that is purported to show the alleged assault incident.

The incident is said to have happened at a house in the suburb of Yeoville, Johannesburg, where the learners reside. Gauteng Education Spokesperson, Steve Mabona says the implicated learners are from various Johannesburg schools.

“And we can also confirm that all affected schools have served them will notice of suspension. They will be taken to process of disciplinary. The Psycho-social support will be provided to all affected to make sure they are taken through the process. We strongly condemn such acts of violence among learners,” Mabona said.
