“SA remains committed to assisting war-torn countries across Africa”

Date: Nov 22, 2024

South Africa's Defense Minister, Angie Motshekga, says the country remains committed to assisting war-torn countries across the continent.

Last year six soldiers died in a fire that had gutted a training facility at the Lohatla military base in the Northern Cape province before they embarked on military exercises. Motshekga attended military exercises at the military base yesterday ahead of the deployment of the National Defense Force troops to the Democratic Republic of Congo,” "From the reports that we got from the past three days, yes there are challenges .a war is not a very happy environment .you can’t say you are safe because anything might happen. but we are comfortable as ministers that things are going relatively well. We got all the reports about the area which i am not going to divulge but generally we think things are going well."
