Russia supports Venezuela’s efforts to join the BRICS group of nations, Putin told Maduro.

Putin also said that Russia “appreciates that Venezuela shares its views on actual international situation.”

Maduro said that Venezuela is “on track to BRICS” and stands for world balance.

Russia hosts the BRICS Summit in the city of Kazan from October 22 to 24.

The diplomatic forum founded 15 years ago by major emerging markets Brazil, Russia, India, China and later South Africa, has since expanded to include Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates.
