Masemola was briefing the media earlier today ahead of overseeing the destruction of illicit drugs at the Forensic Science Laboratories in the Western Cape and Eastern Cape through incineration.

These substances include Mandrax, Methamphetamine (Tik), Cocaine, and various other narcotics.

"The total estimated drug value we are destroying today is 800 kilograms of drugs. The street value is more than $18 million. About a year ago, we gathered at this very plant to destroy over $30 million worth of drugs. In three years, we have destroyed various types of drugs worth $290 million," said Masemola.
