South Africa’s (SA) opposition party, the Democratic Alliance (DA) has commended what it calls decisive action and commitment by the Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation, Sello Seitlholo for allocating $9.5 million to address the collapsing water
The funds will address challenges faced by the Mafube Local Municipalityy in the Free State Province. The DA's Igo Scheurkogel says the money will also assist in expanding wastewater capacity to treat over 7,5 million litres of water.
“This money will repair broken sewage systems, stop pollution at the Wilge River and Vaal River and ensure clean water for residents. We thank the Deputy Minister for taking action. Clean water is a basic right. The DA will keep watching to ensure that this project is done properly, no corruption, no delay,” Scheurkogel said.
