Two more suspected drug mules arrested at SA airport

Date: Dec 16, 2024

South African Police Service (SAPS) have arrested two more suspected drug traffickers at the OR Tambo International Airport in Kempton Park, Gauteng South Africa (SA).

This comes after a suspected drug mule from Paraguay was arrested at the earlier this month.

In a statement, the SAPS says the drug traffickers aged 30 and 35 were arrested yesterday after they landed from São Paulo, Brazil when they were intercepted at the airport.

Police say one of the mules was found in possession of over 4kg cocaine in his luggage while a medical x-ray confirmed the presence of drug bullets swallowed by the other.

They say 15 bullets containing cocaine have been released.

The suspects are expected to appear before the Kempton Park Magistrates’ Court this week on charges related to drug trafficking.
