The man is seen in a four-by-four bakkie driving over a person several times before fleeing the scene in Rivonia, Johannesburg.

The incident happened in a parking lot, with some social media users saying the incident was a lover's quarrel. However, police, have stayed away from commenting on that element.

Gauteng Police Spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi says officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident that happened earlier this month.

“They found a man lying on the side of the road with injuries all over his body. The paramedics declared him dead. A case of murder has been opened for further investigation, and no one has been arrested yet. All leads to trace the suspect are being followed, and anyone who has information that can assist the police in locating the suspect is requested to contact the Crime Stop Line at +27 8600 10111.”
