It has also forecast 60% chances of rain in KwaZulu-Natal Province.
Last week, hundreds of road users were trapped in snow on the N3 at Van Reenens Pass between KwaZulu-Natal and the Free State Province.
One person died of hypothermia after being trapped in the snow for two days.
Meanwhile, Free State Premier Maqueen Letsoha-Mathae has appealed to members of the public to be alert and take precautionary measures ahead of a cold front which will make landfall today.
It is expected to bring snow and strong winds to many areas across the province.
The SAWA has also forecasted light snowfall over Drakensburg.
Provincial Acting Head of Communication Setjhaba Maphalla says a disaster management team has been activated.
“The Premier through the Department of Co-Operative Governance & Traditional Affairs has activated the provincial disaster management team which is now on high alert and is ready to respond to any emergencies and any eventualities. The provincial disaster management team is closely monitoring the situation and is prepared to provide any assistance to the affected communities.”
